Meet Melanie and Bob
When someone else's happiness is your happiness, that is love.
-Lana Del Rey
These two met through mutual friends and little did they know they would end up falling in love. Bob owned an office building in town that needed some sprucing up and was looking for someone to help. And then came Melanie. You see, flowers are her thing. She started landscaping as a side job and ended up being the one to spruce Bob's building up. Dating came naturally for them. And now Melanie does his gardening for free!
Bob proposed to Melanie at the Harrison Bed and Breakfast in Cape May this past November. Bob went all out. Everything was decorated to the nines for the holiday season, their room was full of flowers, and he had a little 2 piece Jazz band that played her favorite Christmas song, Christmas Cannon. Every restaurant they went to that weekend had another bouquet of flowers on their table. Melanie made sure to bring home every flower bouquet from that weekend telling me that "no flower gets left behind".
Their dream wedding day is set at the Southern Mansion in Cape May, June of 2020. A sunny day with a lot of gorgeous greenery and flowers, surrounded by friend's and family's love, laughter and smiles. They want a relaxing and low speed day, so they can soak everything in and enjoy themselves.
The Cape May Lighthouse
We started our shoot at the Cape May Lighthouse at Cape May Point State Park. It was a very hot, humid day and 90° by 8:30 in the morning, Aside from the sweat accumulating on my forehead, the heat didn't phase us! We got some gorgeous shots on the beach!
The beach creates such a beautiful backdrop for any occasion, but the Cape May lighthouse adds just a bit more to these photographs. I think the lighthouse definitely symbolizes that Cape May is a very special place for this couple.
The Willow Creek Winery
Melanie and Bob are having their reception at the Willow Creek Winery. They can't wait to celebrate there. I think Melanie will definitely get her wish of being surrounded by the greenery on her wedding day here!
The Southern Mansion
We headed off to The Southern Mansion for a few more photographs. This is actually where their ceremony will take place and it holds a very special place in their hearts as this is where they stay on vacation as well! This mansion has charm to it and the grounds are absolutely stunning. You could just tell that they felt at home here.
I love ring shots, especially Melanie's ring. This ring sparkled in the sun wherever we went. I enjoyed getting a shot of the ring at each of the places we visited.
Bob and Melanie, I truly enjoyed getting to know both of you. I can tell your wedding day is going to be magical. Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph these memories for you.
Congratulations Melanie & Bob!
