Thank you to the 10 couples that asked me to capture their wedding day memories!
I love weddings. I love everything about the wedding day. All of the details, ideas, little things that bride and grooms planned to make their day extra special. One of the best things about photographing a wedding is getting to know the couple. After the engagement sessions, trips to venues, many emails and phone conversations we get to know each other. I love hearing how they met, how he proposed, what they are going to do after they get married, where they are going on their honeymoon and all about their families. By the time their day is here I feel like I am going to a family affair!
My year started out with Colleen's son's wedding reception. They were married in Texas but had a family celebration in Wilkes Barre, Pa. It was a cold January day so we had to do photos inside the hotel. Kevin and Nadesha were a sweet couple. They had a beautiful reception with lots of family and friends. I enjoyed capturing this chapter of their wedding.
The wedding season went into full swing in June. I had two weddings. First was Sharon and Jim's. I had met them at a wedding I photographed the year before and was excited to capture their day for them. We had a beautiful day and luckily it didn't rain since they had an outdoor ceremony planned. We hoped for sunset pictures but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead we got beautiful, colorful cloudy skies. Sharon looked beautiful in her lace gown. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and fun reception.
A week later I traveled to Stroudsburg, Pa for Ashley and Billy's wedding. I was contacted by Ashley and we emailed back and forth before their wedding day. We didn't get a chance to meet before the wedding, but that was ok. We knew we were a good match. They had a beautiful day with a little threat of rain. Ashley was a beautiful bride and Billy had a fun group of groomsmen. Of course it poured right before the wedding and a little after but we were able to still get some great shots in. They had a beautiful wedding venue. It was a fun wedding!
Kristina and Bernies's wedding in July was on a hot summer day. We met about a year earlier. Kristina, Bernie and I had a fun time at their engagement session. They wanted fall colors for their engagement photos. We hiked up a trail to a waterfall with their dog, Benji and Kristina's parents. I loved getting to know them during that time and we got some awesome photos. We had talked many times about wedding plans and I met them at their venue before I moved to NJ. I was excited for these two because you could tell that they were so in love. They had a beautiful day. We had to move fast later in the day because a big storm was coming and they were clearing the golf course, but we got some great shots in. All plans went perfect, even the sparkler exit!
My wedding in August was at one of my favorite places, Cape May,NJ. Michelle and George got remarried in the Sunset Pavilion at sunset beach, Cape May, They were previously divorced but got back together and got married again! It was a beautiful sunny day so we got some shots on the beach before and after the ceremony. They had a nice dinner with family and friends at a local restaurant. I loved their story and makes you believe in love.
September was a busy month. Two weddings in two days! First was Ines and Maurice's big day. I met these two at their venue about 5 months before their wedding. We talked about their plans for the wedding on the beach. After our meeting we walked to the beach and took some engagement photos! Holy moly was it windy that day at the shore. We laughed a lot , got some great photos and I couldn't wait to see them get married. Ines and Maurice lucked out with a beautiful ,sunny september day for a beach wedding. Ines looked beautiful in her dress. We got some great shots on the beach and thankfully it wasn't as windy! They had a beautiful wedding and I am so glad that they asked me to capture their day.
The following day I drove up to PA for Audra and Jonathan's wedding. I met these two a year and a half before their wedding day. They wanted fall engagement photos. The fall day we chose, it rained. We had to sit in the car and wait for the rain to stop. I am glad we didn't give up because after the rain the fall colors were so brilliant that they turned out to be some of my favorite engagement photos! Audra and Jonathan had to change their wedding date and thankfully I was not booked on their new date. They had their ceremony and dinner in wonderful old mansion. They were a beautiful couple. We had planned to get to the river by sunset for photos. It was perfect timing and the photos came out beautiful. I enjoyed capturing their wedding day.
In October you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. For Kariann and Shawn they lucked out and had a beautiful sunny and warm day. I met these two on a chilly February day. We had to wait a bit to do their engagement session so that it would be a little warmer. We went to two waterfalls and climbed all over the place for photos. We had a fun time. I love this time with my couples. They had a beautiful ceremony and we were able to get some great shots outdoors. We had missed peak fall colors but there was still enough color to add a nice backdrop to their photos. They had a fun bridal party. One even climbed to the top of a hill to drop leaves down on the bride and groom . Great day, beautiful couple and fun wedding.
My last two weddings were back to back in November. The first wedding was for a great couple, Kim and Dave. When I first met this couple they didn't want to do an engagement session. I am so glad they changed their minds and we were able to get a session in before I moved to NJ. We had a blast. The session was only suppose to last 3o mins, but ended up being an hour and a half! I loved getting to know them and they were so willing to do any pose or idea I had for photos. Their photos were gorgeous and some of my favorite shots. Their wedding day was cold!! I think if was in the teens when we got to the reception. Kim was one of the prettiest brides and they make a great couple. We had to speed through some outdoor wedding shots because of the cold but still got some beautiful images. You could see their love for each other in many of the photos!!
My last wedding of the year was for my friend, Patty and, her husband, Louie. I have known Patty for many years and it was nice to be able to photograph her engagement session and wedding. We had a gorgeous evening for their engagement session. They danced for me and we got some great shots. I could feel the love that these two had for each other that day as well as the love that surrounded them from family and friends on the day of their wedding. They had a beautiful ceremony. The day was sunny but cold. Everyone threw on coats and we headed outside in the snow for some photos. We got some great shots despite everyone freezing. They ended their celebration with a nice dinner and awesome dessert table. We had fun with the photo booth before I headed back to New Jersey. So happy these two found each other!! Happiness and love!
